Victorian children enjoy, by both national and international standards, a high level of health and wellbeing. Nevertheless, there are important opportunities for improvement. To this end, the Department of Human Services (DHS) Victoria established the Children's Health and Wellbeing Policy Flagship project, of which this review is a part. Its purpose is to guide and structure the Department's efforts to support and improve the health, development, learning and wellbeing of Victorian children. The project will assist DHS in determining strategic investments (or 'best bets') for improving the health and wellbeing of children in Victoria. This report contributes to the Children's Health and Wellbeing Policy Flagship project by, in summary, reviewing the international and national evidence and, based on that, identifying what DHS might do to improve the health and wellbeing of Victorian children. |
