| In this paper we develop a simple model for the polarimetric radar backscatter from breaking ocean waves. We show that the dynamics of the breaking process lead to characteristic variations in the wave depolarisation processes. We compare the model predictions with X Band grazing incidence radar data collected for breaking ocean waves in the surf zone. | |||||||||||
