Abstract | |||||||||
| An approximte soution is given to the problem of diffration of sound waves by slender bodies. The solution is otained as the fit term in an expansion in terms of a ''slenderness parameter'' and is represented as due to a ditribtion of sources along the axis of an arbitrary body. As a test of the solution it is applied to shapes for which the exact solution is known. comparison shows that it is fairly accurate in these cases. (Author) | |||||||||
