Legionella Pneumophila and TATLOCK Bacterium: Simple, Effective Giemsa Stain. (2002)

Abstract
A Giemsa stain technique for demonstrating L. pneumophila and Legionella-like organisms in culture or tissue impression smears and scrapings is described which is simple, rapid and effective. It is recommended for routine staining of cultures, and suggested for staining impression smears and scrapings of human long tissue samples as a potential method for early presumptive diagnosis of Legionnaires' Disease and Pittsburgh Pneumonia.
