CRITICAL EVALUATION OF CERAMIC PROCESSING AT SUBCONVENTIONAL TEMPERATURES. (2005)

Abstract
Reports and critical evaluations are presented for 11 categories of subconventional-temperature ceramic processes. The 11 categories are: (1) vapor deposition, (2) melt spraying, (3) hot forming, (4) activated solid-state sintering, (5) activated sintering in the presence of a liquid phase, (6) reactive sintering and reactive hot pressing, (7) previtrified raw materials, (8) cementitious bonding, (9) high-energy-rate forming, (10) molecular deposition from the liquid, and (11) electrodeposition. Recommendations are presented regarding twelve outstanding research and development opportunities in various specific areas of the subject. (Author)
