| コンテナ栽培によるケヤキ幼齢木の成長特性とコンテナ容積, 形状との関係を検討するため, 千葉大学園芸学部構内に関東ロームを用土とした6種類のコンテナ区と直植え区を設定し, 1992年4月下旬の植え付け後約3年半の成長を測定・解析した.根元径や樹高などの成長量を規定する要因は, 主としてコンテナの容積であり, 形状の違いの影響は小さいものと考えられた.地上部成長量の違いは樹形にも反映し, 小さいコンテナでは狭小な樹形となった.地上部と根乾重の間には高い正の相関が見られたが, 太根に対する細根乾重の割合はコンテナ容積が小さいものほど高くなり, また根密度も高いことから, 小さなコンテナでは根詰まりが起こり根の肥大が抑制されているものと推定された.容積の大きなコンテナ樹木ですら直植えに比べると地上部成長が劣り, それにはコンテナ樹木の根系が根元近くに垂直的に分布し, 根の水平的な広がりが抑制されていることが関わるものと推定された.. We investigated the growth character of young trees of Zelkova serrata Makino for about three and half years, which were planted in containers differing in its volume and shape. Caliper growth and the elongation of trunk in smaller containers were reduced compared to larger containers, and the relative width of crown to the tree height in smaller containers was less than in larger containers. T/R ratio was mostly same in all types of container, but less than a tree planted in the earth. The dry-weight ratio of fine root to big root was decreased with the volume of container, and the enlargement of root are estimated to be inhibited in smaller containers. The restricted growth of upper part of container-planted trees would be brought by the growth inhibition of lateral root comparing with the tree planted in the earth. | |||||||||||||
