| Success and Results Chemotherapy alone without collapse Therapy Pulmonary Tuberculosis GANGULI DUTTA DAS Bangur Sanatorium Digri Midnapore West Bengal Introduction Circumstances compelled the senior author treat fairly advanced cases pulmonary tuberculosis with chemotherapy alone since two hospitals which visits regularly consultant where there are trained medical officers undertake collapse therapy but there are arrangements transfer them larger tuberculosis hospitals for surgery While waiting called for surgery number cases improved much that even with tomograms cavities that were present after one year chemotherapy disappeared another six months year time But usually the cases either the Sanatorium the hospitals who ultimately recovered the cavities closed within months year time mainly with intensive chemotherapy described below Some these cases who were put postural recumbancy Dillwyn Thomas and also reported separately the senior author Ganguli All India Tuberculosis Workers Conference Madras Materials This paper report our experiences gained from proved cases pulmonary tuberculosis treated during the last four years from three different hospitals viz Bangur Sanatorium Digri Police Hospital Midnapore and Eastern Frontier Rifles Hospital Salua The non tuberculosis cases and irregular discharged cases have been omitted from the series the facilities available these hospitals are different and the treatment provided the patients has been modified accordingly the patients t | |||||||||||
