The metallic phase of the organic conductor TMTSF -DMTCNQ stabilized by a weak irradiation disorder (1982)

Abstract
A low dose X-ray irradiation damaging two molecules per thousand (2 ‰) destroys the low temperature Peierls insulating phase of the organic conductor TMTSF-DMTCNQ. Measurements of the Hall constant and of the thermoelectric power down to 2.2 K demonstrate that a metallic state is stabilized by irradiation and extended to very low temperatures.
