TORSIONAL SHEAR FLOW OF LONG PITCH CHOLESTERIC MESOPHASES IN ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS (1979)

Abstract
Torsional shear [l] and vertical electric and magnetic fields are applied to cholesteric liquid crystal films with homeotropic boundaries in the reduced thickness range 0 ≤ d/dc < 1.3. Using MBBA/CC mixtures, new deformation textures including inversion and domain structures as well as field induced texture transitions are described.
