| An eternally collapsing scalar field universe (2008) | |||||||||
Abstract | |||||||||
| We study here the evolution of a massless scalar field universe, developing from a regular initial spacelike surface. The Einstein equations and regularity and boundary conditions governing the same are specified. We then construct a class of inhomogeneous universe models that collapse eternally, without ever meeting a spacetime singularity in future. When time reversed these models can be used to throw away the big bang singularity to infinite past without invoking any negative pressure fluids.. Comment: 10 pages, no figures | |||||||||
