The efficiency of improved ranked set sampling methods (1999)

Abstract
Submitted to the School of Computing and Mathematics of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Deakin University. Bibliography: leaves 254-264. Ranked set sampling is a desirable sampling technique where the ranking of the sample observations does not require the actual measurement. This thesis develops new ranked set sampling techniques and determines the sampling characteristics required to best estimate the required population parameters, such as mean and variance.
