| last decade. In this report, we have collected data from a number of real systems, which are successful and complex industrial systems. We tried to identify factors that have significant influence on their Software System Architecture lifecycle. The main goal of the investigation is to identify some key common factors that make architectures of these systems, successful or fail. The investigation was performed through a series of interviews with a number of key persons of research and development groups of successful international companies located in Sweden. The interviews were conducted in the late fall of 2003.
