Abstract | |||||||||||||
| The new M-SC many body potentials for Cu, Ni, Ag have been applied to investigate the melting, glass formation and crystallization processes in Cu-Ag, Cu-Ni and pure Ni systems. The melting temperatures are a little higher than the experimental data, since we simulated a homogenous melting process. And we found that glass formed in Cu4Ag6 alloy, but FCC crystal formed in Cu-Ni and pure Cu under the same cooling rates. The correlation function and structural factor were calculated to determine the order of atomic structures. The e ects of cooling rate and atomic size di erence on glass formation and crystallization were concluded. 912-1 The phase transformation, especially glass formation and crystallization of liquid metals have been studied by molecular dynamics(MD) in many systems, such as sodium[1], rubidium[2] and recently pure Ni, etc. [3], and di erent potentials were used, like lonnard-Jones[4], EAM[3]. But not a potential for many di erent metals and alloys has been | |||||||||||||
