| In an earlier stage of this work two different non-periodic optical waveguide structures, such as a multi-cavity semiconductor laser diode and a non-periodic segmented mode converter have successfully been optimized using a generalized genetic algorithm scheme. By investigating the previously optimized perturbed waveguide topologies according to the evolution of characteristic patterns, we try to deduce superior meta-optimization strategies which rely on a population based information gathering. 1. | |||||||||||||||
