Abstract
. A new extra-solar planet has been discovered in the context of the CORALIE survey at La Silla Observatory. This planet orbits the star HD 192263. In this paper we present and discuss the basic properties of this new planetary candidate. 1. The CORALIE extra-solar planet survey During the 9th "Cool Stars, Stellar Systems and the Sun" conference, in Florence, the first extra-solar planet has been announced (Mayor & Queloz 1995). At the time of the 11th conference of this series, more than 20 extra-solar giant planets are known, presenting a wide variety of (minimum) masses and orbital characteristics (Marcy, Cochran & Mayor 1999). One long term extra-solar planet search programme started in June 1998 making use of the CORALIE high-resolution (=\Delta 50 000) fiber-fed echelle spectrograph mounted on the Nasmyth focus of the new 1.2 m Euler Telescope at ESO (La Silla, Chile). After 1 year of measurements, 4 new extra-solar planets have been detected (Queloz et al. 1999ab; Udry et a...
