| Abstract. In this article we describe an approach towards increasing the robustness of the UML refinement machinery. The aim of this work is not to formalize the UML notation itself, but to substantiate a number of intuitions about the nature of possible refinement relations in UML, and even to discover particular refinement structures that designers do not perceive as refinements in UML. 1. | |||||||||||||||||
