Abstract | |||||||||
| We demonstrate experimentally that the statistical properties of distances between pedestrians that are hindered from foregoing each other are described by the Gaussian Unitary Ensemble of random matrices. The explanation results from the fact that the trajectories of the otherwise autonomous walkers cannot cross and resemble non-colliding random walks.. Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures | |||||||||
