| Proceedings EPAC Lucerne Switzerland NOVEL IDEAS AND FOR HIGH INTENSITY NEUTRINO BEAMS Peach CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Chilton Oxfordshire Abstract Recent developments neutrino physics primarily the demonstration neutrino oscillations both atmospheric neutrinos and solar neutrinos provide the first conclusive evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model particle physics The phenomenology neutrino oscillations for three generations neutrino requires six parameters two squared mass differences mixing angles and complex phase that could not contribute the otherwise unexplained baryon asymmetry observed the Universe Exploring the neutrino sector will require very intense beams neutrinos and will need novel solutions Model that need measured and which will eventually provide clues the origin the neutrino masses The flavour eigenstates are related the mass eigenstates through the MakiNakagawa Sakata matrix UMNS equation INTRODUCTION The Standard Model particles and their interactions provides stunningly accurate description huge volume experimental data from LEP HERA and the Tevatron well precision experiments particle properties such the experiment However there now very convincing evidence for the phenomenon neutrino oscillations which neutrinos created particular flavour eigenstate for example electron neutrinos the sun are subsequently found mixture flavours This only possible the neutrinos have mass however small contrary one the assumptions the Standard Model whi | |||||||||
