Concentration dependence of the pseudometamagnetic transition field in heavy-fermion Ce1-xYxRu2Si2 (1995)

Abstract
ELSEVIER Physica Concentration dependence the pseudometamagnetic field heavy fermion Cel xYxRu Siz Haen Visser Lapierre aCRTBTt CNRS Grenoble cedex France Van der Waals Zeeman Laboratory Valckenierstraat Amsterdam The Netherlands Abstract Magnetization measurements performed Cel single crystals low temperature for the magnetic field parallel the easy magnetization axis axis the tetragonal structure are reported They show increase the metamagnetic like field from about for value for The Griineisen parameter derived from this increase compared those already derived from other experiments especially from the variation deduced from specific heat measurements The heavy fermion compound CeRu known exhibit metamagnetic like transition for field applied along the tetragonal axis This transition associated with the disappearance short range antiferromagnetic correlations which have been observed neutron scattering experiments Nevertheless and although recent muon experiments suggest the appearance tiny magnetic ordered moments below the ground state CeRu can considered Pauli paramagnet This certainly results from strong competition with the Kondo effect Kondo temperature K has been deduced from specific heat well from neutron scattering data Application pressure drives CeRu toward less magnetic state leading especially increase reduction the coefficient the low temperature resistivity variation and increase the temperature the susceptibility maximum All these effects are witnessed lar
