| Letters Editor Isotopic response versus isomorphic response Sir response the above letter Vitiligo and lichen planus striae Koebner phenomenon would like thank the authors for appreciating article The issue that they have raised whether the development lesions stretch marks striae distensae their two patients lichen planus and vitiligo represents the Koebner phenomenon Since the lesions developed only along the course stretch marks and the intervening skin was unaffected the authors are probably describing the isotopic response rather than the Koebner phenomenon The term isotopic response refers the occurrence new skin disorder the site another unrelated and already healed skin disease was first defined Wolf and hence also known Wolf isotopic response The term isoloci response has also been suggested The isomorphic response first defined Koebner indicates the appearance typical skin lesions existing dermatosis sites injuries The differences and similarities between these two terms are obvious The isomorphic response describes the appearance skin lesion which morphologically similar existing skin disease the site injury any kind Thus the term isomorphic means the same morphology the existing disease The term isotopic response the other hand describes the occurrence new unrelated disease that appears the same location previously already healed disease hence isotopic means the same place The localization skin diseases remains one the most elusive problems dermatology The propose | |||||||||||||
