Fast and simple high resolution optical spectrum analyser (2008)
Lauterback, Kai-Uwe, Schneider, Thomas, Henker, Ronny, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacher, Andreas Thomas
A simple method for fast optical spectroscopy with high resolution is shown. The method is based on the narrowband Brillouin gain process in optical fibers.
1 Gbit/s radio over fiber downlink at a 32 GHz carrier (2008)
Junker, Marcus, Schneider, Thomas, Lauterbach, Kai-Uwe, Henker, Ronny, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas
The carrier frequency of the presented radio over fiber downlink at 32 GHz is generated by stimulated Brillouin scattering and an error free 1 Gbit/s data transmission is realized.
Optimization of the Brillouin spectrum for fiber based slow light systems (2008)
Henker, Ronny, Wiatrek, Andrzej, Lauterbach, Kai-Uwe, Schneider, Thomas, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas
This article shows simulation results and first practical investigations of the optimization of a Brillouin spectrum with the natural bandwidth superimposed with two losses for fiber based slow light...
Henker, Ronny, Wiatrek, A., Lauterbach, K. U., Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacher, Andreas Thomas, Schneider, Thomas
Presented are theoretical investigations and simulations of a reduction of the group velocity dispersion (GVD) in slow-light systems by an optimisation of the gain spectrum of the stimulated...
Henker, Ronny, Schneider, Thomas, Junker, Markus, Lauterbach, Kai-Uwe, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas Thomas
An effective method to enhance the time delay in SBS-based slow-light systems by decoupling the delay from the Brillouin gain is shown. A drastic improvement of the time delay in one fiber segment...
High quality millimeter wave generation via stimulated Brillouin scattering (2007)
Junker, Marcus, Schneider, Thomas, Lauterbach, Kai-Uwe, Henker, Ronny, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas
A new and simple method for the generation and modulation of Millimeter waves is presented. Based on frequency upconversion via Stimulated Brillouin Scattering, it is very flexible in its output...
Investigation of fast light in long optical fibers based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (2007)
Lauterback, Kai-Uwe, Schneider, Thomas, Henker, Ronny, Junker, Marcus, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas
A simple method to generate a negative time delay in SBS-based fast-light systems using Brillouin gain and loss is shown. We achieved a maximum negative time delay of 32.4 ns in one long fiber...
Slow and fast-light in optical fibers:an overview (2007)
Henker, Ronny, Schneider, Thomas, Lauterbach, Kai-Uwe, Junker, Markus, Ammann, Max, Schwarzbacker, Andreas
Slow- and fast-light is the control of the velocity of light in a medium by light. As a fascinating new field in physics there is a fundamental interest on this effect on the one side, but on the...
